Laurie Pressman joined Pantone in 2000, holding progressively larger and more complex roles in product management, marketing and leadership for PANTONE FASHION, HOME + INTERIORS and is currently the Vice-President of the Pantone Color Institute. Prior to joining Pantone, Laurie held successive roles in buying and merchandising within the world of retail departments stores. A veteran in color and design, Laurie recognizes that color is the most powerful communication tool, and as an intrinsic part of people’s immediate visual experience plays a significant role in human perception, consumer purchasing decisions, product and space design and effective brand management.
In addition to managing a global consortium of color and trend experts, Laurie presents on color psychology and color and trend to design audiences worldwide as well as working directly with leading brands on their brand visual identity and product color selections.
Laurie participates in the development of Pantone’s color research and color trend forecasting products, sits on the Home Products Board at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) and the Fashion Advisory Board at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). In addition to publishing articles on color, she has appeared on television and been quoted in print and digital media as a color expert for trade and consumers worldwide. She has a BA from Boston University and a MA in Psychology from New York University.
